Midterm Reports
They're here!
Audrey is doing great! She's on target in academic subjects. She's advanced in language and writing. And she's above grade expectations in art. Yay!! Just like her mommy!
JT's progress report was impressive, too. He is expected to meet all of his IEP goals this year!
Fantastic news all around :)
We are SO proud of our little smarties!

Weather
Yesterday I went in and ate lunch with Audrey at her school. This is always a fun experience - those kids are hilarious!
They happened to be buzzing with excitement about the predicted snow today and tomorrow. When they lined up to walk back to the classroom that's all the entire class was talking about. Audrey was at the front of the line - her job this week is 'line leader' - so she's always first.
I should add that since we've moved here, they've predicted big snow twice and been completely wrong. One time we got flurries for one hour (nothing even got close to sticking) and the other time *nothing*.
So, as they're all talking about the snow excitedly, Audrey turns around and says, "It's not gonna snow. They're always wrong. There won't be any."
All the kids got quiet, and the teacher cracked up. She said, "I think you're right Audrey. There probably won't be any snow." (No adult has faith in the meteorologists here).
All the kids looked crushed except Audrey. She is such a little grown up... Most kids would be screaming (and were screaming, LOL) - "It's going to SNOW!" But not Miss Audrey.

Audrey has informed us she no longer wants to be called 'Audrey'. She prefers 'Audrey'.
So, her blog address may be changing... to something with Audrey instead :)

Counting Down... and Up?
JT has a new trick... he counts up, down, up, down...
For instance...
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4...
It can go for a reeeally long time. He can also stop at any of the middle numbers and go up or down from there. It's pretty cool!
(almost... only "1" is the middle finger, haha)
He's been big on counting on his fingers, too. Only "1" is his middle finger (cracks me up!). He loves "10" with both hands - he is so enthusiastic about 10 :)

Sibling Love
Awww...
JT's favorite thing to do right now: walk up beside Audrey, position her hand open, hold her hand and take her to play with him (usually running around the living room holding hands or playing some other 'bounce' game on the furniture).
They giggle like crazy!!!

Bedtime
is not going too well. Don't know what the deal is, but little man doesn't want to go to bed... in his bed.
Here's what happened last night.
He's been such a mommy's boy lately. He cries and won't calm down until I come and sit with him. Last night was one of those times, after we tried to put him to bed. He usually plays in there then falls asleep. Lately, he just sobs immediately - so we get him right back up and let him come back down. He kept crying last night, and since Audrey was already asleep, we got some mommy-JTmy time.
We both passed out; this is how daddy found us. He took JT to his room, and JT slept all night as usual. Just kind of weird...

Dewone Robinson, American Idol and Audrey
Miss Thang was watching AI with us again last night... and we saw this audition. At the first break, she belted out the crazy "laaaa-ty, I knooooow you" - first high pitched, then low pitched - just like this guy!!! She thought it was HILARIOUS!!!
And it really was when she kept doing it. She definitely had us cracking up.
Oh - and she's STILL singing it today. Joy!!

Cats and Socks
Audrey got to sleep in my bed while The Hubs was at inventory this weekend.. she LOVED it. Evie was sleeping on the other side of her, and Audrey was petting her. She meowed a few times, and Audrey turned to me and said, "Mommy, Evie's mouth STINKS!"
"Well, Evie eats cat food," I told her.
"What's cat food made of anyway?"
"Fish."
"It smells like stinky socks. Maybe Evie's been eating stinky socks instead."
Funny girl!

JT put on his own shoes with NO assistance this weekend!!! We were at the Raleigh Museum of Natural Sciences, and his shoe fell off. Instead of bringing it to us, he sat down and put it on himself.

Big Day for Dillards!
January 1st is Dillards HUGE sale - 50% all clearance. If you've never been, first, you're missing out, and second, it's CRAZY. People are buying EVERYTHING.
So, The Hubs's store (Cary Towne Center) did the most business the store HAS EVER DONE January 1st. EVER - like in the whole history of the store!!!
I am super proud of The Hubsber - that is a HUGE accomplishment.
Just thought I'd share, in case anyone else wants to send him a congratulations :)
